Is everyone prepared for Tuesday?
I was layed-off last year on August 31. It sucked --> just before the long weekend and kids returning to school. But after over 20 years at Legacy organization, I received 24 months and was still eligible of EI. Today I'm employed in a similar role with a competitor.
I understand Federal Government will revert back to pre-covid EI on Sept. 25. If you are layed-off on Tuesday --> count your lucky stars.
Lol 5 weeks is bs especially if you are going to lawyer up and waste more money.
What is the point of this site if there was layoffs recently and no one shares some details?
Yes I heard certain areas downtown were impacted

One per year is gold. Legal requirement is much lower. OP likely got so much due to their age and good on them for finding another job. I’d retire if I was offered as much.
Our group got the e-mail at 2 PM today. "Work from home Tuesday. Decline meeting requests. Be available between 8 - 12."
24 is golden. I heard that Pembina is quietly rolling through layoffs right now trying to fly under the radar and offering one month per year, hosing people on post layoff benefits and treating them like leftovers. Even the 20-30 year people. Not of a fan of CVE but at least they throw up couple more rubles at us. It could be worse... very worse.
