What a waste of time. I am glad that I am retired. Who comes up with this stuff?

My previous post asking this question was deleted, and I'm not sure why. But could someone please explain the logo for the Black Employee ERG? I am really struggling to understand it, and I'm afraid to ask around the office.

It is all for show so just don’t let it bother you that much. In the end we all know who does the work and no one cares what skin color they are. I have become numb to these virtue signaling efforts, and all it does is promote segregation that we all worked so hard to get past.

@ivtx+1isDblj3 very well stated. Another point, and worse still, is this scheme is being directed from the top down. These things are normally grass roots bottom up efforts that address real problems. Your 'oppressors' are managing this and anyone getting involved in this is being played like a fiddle. This is either cynical window dressing for the company or a real effort to make the company dysfunctional or both. Don't get involved and let it die on the vine, unless you want to be part of your own downfall.

@ivtx+1isDblj3 - well said. The ERGs don’t bring different people together. They segregate and isolate. Weird that the company would want this.

I was quite excited as it appeared the company was interested in creating a pathway for technical advancement and training.

Nope, none of that.

Another company teaching its employees to segregate by helping them realize that they’re all supposed to be subconsciously racist. And thinking it’s much better to push employees into smaller subsets where they can identify as, and slowly believe that they are, an oppressed minority. This, rather than just leaving a thriving and diverse employee population alone. But someone evidently has to be paid to create a problem that didn’t exist and get paid even more to provide the solution for that manufactured problem.

People who can put up with this nonsense deserve every bit of compensation they get.
