Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Layoffs coming in NJ

https://www.nj.gov/labor/assets/PDFs/WARN/2022_WARN_Notice_Archive.pdf

Here is the WARN notice- states 328 employees will be affected and effective date is 9/28. Port Reading is listed, I also heard Woodbridge/ Iselin, NJ.

Companies are required to give 60 days notice.

Wishing everyone the best.

My Fes caught our dm playing Battleship on his I pad when he was supposedly on a call and was not to be disturbed.

My district manager never walks our store. They come in with their coffee and go right to the office. Maybe he says goodbye when he leaves at 4. I want that job.

Corporate should definitely be the ones to cut. When our store reopened in NY a group from the corporate signing department came in and there were 14 of them. Do we need 14 people to make signs? I’m sure other departments are top heavy too. And do we need a dm when our sr dm tells the dm to tell the stores. And on the conference calls the dm delegates all of the topics and info for the store managers to report while they say good job. Someone needs to analyze the structure and quick.

The only way to save this train wreck is to terminate 80% of corporate and all of middle management. Those salaries are immediate boosts to cash flow. Use the new credit line to pay down key vendors like soda st and dyson. Hope for the best. There is no cost control accountability in corporate. Focus on the current task. Return to profitability.

Port Reading is one of the warehouse locations, could a bulk of that be just from there and not affect corporate as much as it may seem? If so it would not be saving much money and be cutting head count in a location that doesn't make sense. Hmmm, in retrospect on how it doesn't make much sense this is BBB after all so it could be most likely.
