Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Layoffs

Rumors are going around about more layoffs sometime in September. I usually ignore talk like that but this time I've heard it from several different people which makes me think there might be some truth to it. Is there any way to confirm (or even better, deny) this?

I dont buy into this stuff, but what I will say is, it is likely Norfolk Southern uses that as leverage if we strike and hold true to not signing the contract unless they give us days off, pay and keep the insurance at the same rate. They'll threaten it and possibly do it. Juniata has been on their chopping block since the day NS bought it. My guess is if they do layoff, it will begin there and probably many remote shops too.

Contractors are in fact being cut back where I'm at. Look for them to be squeezed further

They are supposed to lay off 22 percent or 24 percent compounded
