Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

I feel so bored

There hasn't been enough work for the past few months. I'm not sure if this is an indicator of my future here but if it is and I'm to be laid off, bring it on. With so much toxicity and so little to do, I can think of many better things to do with my time than staying here.

Yes please knock in some anchors, plug and re-spike the ties. As a maintainer I am beyond tired and frustrated w/ the stock rail and switch points running so bad the switches require far too frequent adjustments. Its taken us over 2 months just to get a DTM to go look at CP’s for needed track maintenance and replacements. If its taken 2 months for him just to come look at something, we are doubtful the track personnel will even touch it before 2023. Its not track personnel's fault tho, they spend 12+ hrs a day 7 days a week fixing damage caused by derailments. If only someone had warned management that this might happen! Someone surely would’ve listened.

Might be time to open your personal internet account with the RRB. It takes awhile as they have to send you a temporary pass code by US MAIL. Also need to print the forms to be ready for sick pay or short term disability.

Transfer to a job in the engineering dept, the list of things needing to be done grows everyday.
