Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Question about performance

I would rather leave this place on my own than be shown the door and that's why I care about improving my performance. But how to do it? What are you doing about it? I ask this because the irony is that my performance was rated better when I put in much less effort. Now that I'm giving my best, my performance is worse.

You must be new to the workforce. There is nothing fair in Walmart. You are not successful because of your contribution. No one is successful because of their contribution. The system is rigged and you're successful whether you’re liked or not. Lol. Btw..Walmart is irrelevant and in about a decade will have lost so much market share no one will even think about them.

Since your post is vague................................ instead of trying to give the impression there is a complacated formula to follow just ask for his win number. He will know real quick how things stand.

Since your post is vague and doesn’t contain helpful information such as, salary/hourly, store/club/dist center/HO….. it’s hard to say. Salary associates at HO are more likely to be rated lower during calibration meetings or when the business unit is positioning for performance related reductions. Especially this close to when ratings were to have been finalized. If a business unit does not meet the overall salary plan goals and rating percentages, individual rating are tweaked until the percentage breakout of each rating category meets the goal. In this case, your performance could have been better but if they need to change some ratings down and no one speaks up for you, you could be rated lower simply because someone needed to be rated lower and they liked someone else more than you. It happens on every level……. dept, director, and vp level.

how do you think your performance or productivity is compared to the other associates. your evaluation is probably so vague as to be discriminatiory.

Don’t sweat it. That just means that they’re trying to lay folks off and they want to try to do it “for cause” to try to avoid severance and unemployment. It’s happening company wide.
