Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

A few points to be made

First, it is not just front line or FLLs that frequent and post on this board. There are some high level folks that participate here and know what is coming. They do not agree with what this company plans to announce within the next week.

Second, there are contractors replacing departments and layoffs coming. That we can assure you. This week the initial announcements will be made in terms of these future plans.

Third, these decisions are being made by a very few number of people who are misguided and clueless about what they are about to do.

Fourth, Mr. Shapiro opposed much of what will soon be announced. His Transformative Growth plan was ba----dized by others and he opposed. He was given the opportunity to "retire" and that is what he chose.

Fifth, we pray for you and support you. There is about to be a lot of fear and uncertainty throughout the entire company and we are sorry that we could not prevent this.

If you work at Allstate and your resume isn't up-to-date and circulating already, you're doing it wrong.

How much and what parts of claims are being outsourced? Would love to get my resume up to date if necessary.

To the original poster; thank you for your genuine concern and care in providing this info. Appears that the plan is playing out as we post.

Well just started hearing hints of this but looks like we will be outsourcing sales, service and claims. The leaders are to have a huddle by Friday to tell folks that Horizon 1 Savings (sounds like a bank) will be coming in and to expect an impact. That's all I know.

There are a very few, 'in the know' people who have posted here in the past (probably .005%). After the layoffs were announced in 2020, a person nailed the number of layoffs a month before it was communicated. They also gave good insight to the when and how it would take place.

But those posts are few and far between.

My first way of weeding out the garbage is to see if the poster has the ability to formulate a paragraph. The OP here at least can do that.

This isn't a prediction or a reaction piece. I'm more inclined to believe that this is from an insider who disagrees with the decisions that are soon to be coming out. When is the last time you heard anything resembling an apology from someone above you. This person at least cared enough to try to let us know that not everyone higher up is on board with this unfolding disaster. Ultimately, time will confirm whether the original post is true. I, for one, am more inclined to believe it than not.

I applaud the last commenter saying they are the CEO. I know they are joking, but I feel your as credible as the original post and posts saying all year that there will be massive layoffs. What wil happen is if there are massive layoffs 3 or 4 years from now people will say I warned you in 2022 that there would be layoffs lol. No one in upper management is on these boards. How do I know? I didn't see one prediction about Glenn Shapiro retiring. If that would have leaked on here I'd say ok but no one has connections to upper management and their plans

Sorry, this just isn't credible.

Saying that "This week initial announcements will be made..."

Are you suggesting that anyone at Allstate can meet a deadline? Absurd!

Otherwise, it feels legit to me.

There is a Prop/Liab zoom call tomorrow. Will we find out info then? I hope sooner than later. Why keep us hanging on till the end of the year? Will this affect everybody from the bottom of claims all the way to the top or just some depts?

I am skeptical of what the OP is saying but let's see what this week brings before we stone him/her. They said things would be announced or said this week. If we hear nothing by end of the week then we know they are full of it. But let's see if this goes anywhere before we get too ugly towards them. Just asking that we be fair towards that person until there is proof otherwise.

It’s like the “experts” who predict the stock market direction- if you guess enough times, you may be lucky and get one right. However, nothing on this site is ever remotely accurate. Probably a bunch of disgruntled claim reps opting to use their work time stirring the pot instead of returning phone calls and learning customer interaction skills. Get a life.
