Thread regarding Avaya layoffs

How would you rate Avaya's Middle-Management?

I think there is a consensus that the upper management has no clue. How abou the Middle-Management layer, what are your thoughts on them?

Terrible, so many old Nortel managers, that keep the same old dead weight lower level manager’s that have no concept of transparency

Wouldn't want to put in writing what the management team is like in the UK. All in it for themselves.....They all need sacking and replacing to give us any hope. People promoted due who they suck up to (quite literally in some cases) not on what their capabilities are. Not waiting around until the axe falls.

Middle management I have no idea but I would say my direct manager, a first level manager, was totally clueless and completely ignorant of technology. Surprisingly common in my experience working for Avaya. Not the main reason but one of many reasons I took the money and ran. I'm sorry to see Avaya going through troubled times. I still have friends over there and I'm a share holder. Perhaps it can be turned around. Shame it happened in the first place. Could of been prevented.

If they survived the terrible upper-management, then they are YES people and they can go. The only Middle-management people worth anything were pushed out for speaking up, or have been sent to time-out for speaking up. Those are the only ones I would trust.
