Our team has a ton of interaction with the C-suite and their admins. MD was indeed polished but has serious issues. To the point where we speculated where it all went wrong with him. Bad news. SB spent more time surfing on his cell phone during meetings than paying attention. Bright kid but an incredibly useful arrogant id--t.
Leave MD alone.
Is he a 5'9" manlet? Yes.
Was he fired? Yes.
Is he polished on a surface level but notoriously difficult behind the scenes? Yes.
Would he drink you under the table? Yes.
Was he recently in rehab? Allegedly, yes.
Leave him alone.
"SB": Did you at least purchase your mentor MD a going away gift? Perhaps a booster seat when he drives the G-class Mercedes? Hard to see above the steering wheel on them things. Need to look after the little tykes!
Anyone young reading this: Never worship your employer. They will hose you in an instant and turf ya. You are a number. The old school mentality of working for an employer for your career was dead 20 years ago.
Work. Gain experience. Parlay that into a new opportunity. Repeat.
Ignore the troglodytes.

Might as well, more than half the people don't do shiat around here anyway... Nobody even knows what they do.
