What is a more profitable store?? One store capturing a million customers, or an area which has three stores with a 450,000 people in the entire area. the San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced trade area only has one Bed Bath and Beyond in Modesto, whereas the Coachella Valley has three Bed Bath and Beyond stores, in Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and La Quinta. Is the Bed Bath and Beyond store in Modesto much busier than their typical store locations?? Is the Coachella Valley stores cannibalizing each other out and can downsize to just one or two stores?? I know Bed Bath and Beyond closed the stores in Tracy, Turlock, and even closed their Stockton store, which can be an indicator of weak demand. Why?? There are 3 Macy's stores, 4 JCPenney stores, a Dillard's in Stockton, and even a Sears in Stockton, which can indicate that people in that area favor the mall department stores over the newer big box strip mall stores.
I know the Coachella Valley has a wealthier population which has more a hunger for specialty department stores and more tourists who may visit these stores?? What do you think??

I know the store I’m at isn’t even covering overhead-never mind the lease or payroll
Can’t even pay that either
Just wondering if there is more loyalty to Bed Bath and Beyond in the Coachella Valley than most other places, and if there is significantly less in the San Joaquin Valley??
Why do you ask?
Who cares? They’ll all be closed soon enough
