Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Tomorrow is the day. How many people will be cut?

Spoke to some drunk execs at the cruise yesterday who weren’t too shy about discussing the layoff. It will start tomorrow and go until Thursday. How many people have you heard so far? I hope I am safe

FOMOCO is in a dive that cannot be stopped. They dont have any products that another OEM wants or needs. It is curtains for this Company.

Some of the power train team out on test trips have been called back to Dearborn for this week. Not a good sign.

At the formerly known TDE, there are 20+ LL's with more than 25 years in service including managersm chief engineers and director. if JF is true to his goal to reduce expensive redundant headcount, removing those layers of management will help bottom line. most of those LL's have a lot of obsolete experience not needed in Model e. Good / nice people, but honestly anyone can do what they do (asking irrelevant questions most of the time), they were just part of the right mafia (GMI, Indian, UofM, Filipe's boy/girl scouts, ect.) and were smooth talkers. Most of them were responsible for bad quality / bad decisions. It is time for all of them to leave Ford.
Next week is expected to see some movement at Fort Livonia (digitally of course) this info was filtered by a LL5 and confirmed by a LL6 from another dept.
From TDE is expected to be at least 10% out of 250+ =< ~ 25 people. However, headcount reduction will be ongoing until all TDE quality issues for upcoming launches are under control. Once OPD kicks in, what was known as TDE will be mainly eTransaxles group. It is expected that that manager will become next Chief Engineer and eventually Director, his group has most of the workload.
There is speculation that Filipe and Gray will follow Hau since they are not part of Doug Fields circle of trust.
We'll see, these are speculations from the outside, I was SRD'ed in 2019 after 30 years in service and 20 as LL6. I still socialize with some of the movers and shakers. Tight lips until they are drunk

I spoke to a non-drunk exec yesterday and it is indeed starting tomorrow. Mon-Wed. Good luck to all and for those who are departing, best wishes on the next step of your adventure.

Based on other predictions around here, I'm betting on zero.

Tomorrow it starts in IPTSE, but they're already strapped, marketing & sales, along with customer service division, and credit will be hit harder. 8000 includes those who we lost last round in April, along with last year.

I personally think 8000 is too many. Many depts are stretched thin as it is. I’d be shocked if they cut that many, I was guessing it’d be closer to 2-3000
