Why don't they stop hiring Pink for personal concerts and pay like Google, Microsoft and Apple.
Cisco went from being the most valuable company on earth to being a bit over 7% of Apple. Apple sells fashion. Google sells a record of everything you do. Microsoft makes their money with cloud services. Cisco sells software licenses for software for which they were already charging the customer. All four companies produce low quality software and the big money is where that doesn’t matter.
Considering how many “engineers” at Cisco are getting paid six digits to add 100 printfs a year and what Cisco is paying to fix customer found defects that have escaped both development and devtest engineering is wasting far more money than the ELT’s compensation. Most people work for smaller companies that can’t tolerate the massive failures that have happened at the four companies mentioned here, and with lower margins they aren’t making the money you make, and I guarantee you the good people at those smaller companies are worth ten average engineers at these four.
As they've deposited their huge salaries and massive bonuses, they've de-humanized their employees into numbers on a spreadsheet.
guess they are trying to get us to leave, with .84 CPF and no RSU, and bonus cut, remix, Im going to look and take another gig, and yeah its going to cost more to replace and train my replacement, nice job ELT! oh wait you dont care so whatever.

It's ridiculous indeed. Hiring Oprah, Pink, gym boy Pavelka, doctor hair transplant, sponsoring golf tournaments and other pointless events while we get robbed of 16% of our bonus. I'm gonna put in lots of extra hours now. Not.
