My store should literally have almost twice as many employees, without any exaggeration. Obviously, no one wants to work here anymore. This is not a reason to treat the remaining workers like dirt, because they could soon be without us too. If people continue leaving, I don't even know how our store will function.

It absolutely sucks trying to run a store with a cashier and one floor associate at night. It's hard during the day too when we atleast have a little management help. You cannot be expected to cash people out (who hold up the lines with coupons and WR), do beyonds, help people find stuff and answer questions, grab omni, do freight and clean with 2 other people. It's asinine.
My store is a disaster because of these hours. We went from a B+ to at least a C solely because of lack of staffing. I'm soft side supe and haven't had anyone but me there for weeks. Everyone knows what soft side looks like without zones. When we close at night if the bathrooms get cleaned we are doing good. I'm about to leave this place just out of pure frustration. Not to mention we are in a high theft area so evenings are getting just unsafe with lack of staff. You can't run a store on 3 people!
the only way we stay afloat with the staff and absolute bare minimum hours we're given is by being really slow, which isn't exactly profitable. if business ever actually started picking up again, half the customers would leave because there's no one here to help them or check them out
The bigger problem is the hours budget. I've got people applying but don't have the hours to give them.
Well the company will give out hours so…. 🫠🤷♂️
