Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Return to Return to Office

Hearing there will be an updated mandate to return to the office 3-4 days a week and tighter enforcement come September. Anyone else here something similar?

Is this push for AIG GI, CRBG or both? I know that many people are worried about violent crime when going back to the office in NYC

Definitely not going in 3-4 days per week. I was hired with the understanding that I would only be expected to come in one day per week. I live 40 miles away…not happening!

Leadership has zero credibility, assuming they had any in the first place. We can’t backfill people who leave, which means more work for the dummies like me who haven’t left yet. So I’m “quiet quitting”. Do the minimum and don’t do other people’s jobs that have either left or too clueless to do on their own.

JC office is seemingly designed to cram in as many people as possible in the smallest amount of space. You are right on top of your neighbors with no dividers or personal space. You can be assured you’ll be catching COVID, the flu and every other virus circulating this fall and winter. Just another well-planned and thoughtful AIG gift.

Agree, just a way to get people to quit without paying severance…..

That way PZ can have more to plunder from the company

What ever happened to Brian? Is he OK with his 100+ Million? Or does he need to start another company and sell it to AIG to ensure a proper retirement??

Nothing like commuting to Jersey City in the winter with the wind whipping off the river. That walk from the PATH to 30 Hudson is a ki---r. No thank you, glad I just gave notice. ✌️

How the heck are those who used to go to BH from PA or the PA border, or even down the shore, gonna be able to go to JC? This is gonna be real interesting.

Plenty of competitors have full time WFH in both the UW and claims side. Doesn't seem like the best move to attract new talent, or retain what is left.

I really can not see this happening if you are not client facing. A lot of non UW staff are hardly in the office despite PZ previous memo 2 to 3 says in the office.

They don’t need brick and mortar! So ridiculous

Perhaps if Zaffino had given a real reason to come into the office it would go down better, but the stuff about collaboration and energy was all nonsense.

After 2022's pay rise of 2%, I was hearing only 3% has been proposed for 2023.

People will be leaving in droves.

Why 3-4 days? We were working one day a week in the office years before the pandemic.

Actually, that’s probably why they’re gonna press this issue to push those out the door instead of a rif, so no severance. But, I would pull out one of those PZ emails from back in the day saying that those who have medical issues or have reservations about going back to the office, speak to your manager.

The one and only reason to stay at this dump just went away. I quit.

Don't worry , that 2% raise will cover your travel expenses back and forth to work 3 to 4 days a week and day care for your kids. No problem! AIG needs to keep an eye on you. You seem like a slacker.

Does this apply to CRBG as well?

Yes. Just got the email. Starting 9/12, we are expected to be in the office 3-4 days per week. So stupid.
