Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Is there a layoff for Schdy’s Power?

I here all the time a nice layoff is coming. Then the chair sniffers say there is not layoff coming. Then other people say we have tons of work. Then management says it’s slower than usual. The union says no layoffs. Then T’s run up to management and kiss the forums they walk-on. I don’t get this place but I do know one thing I hope the layoff does come.

Anyone that believes GE won't have a layoff after just hiring a few people is living in a dream world. It's happened before, it will happen again...

If Bangor expands to increase turning diameters, and puts in high speed balence, then worry. That will be the sign that GE is ready to break the union in NY.

Simple, truthful answer is NO. If you listen to the truth, and read the work load as posted, you can tell there isnt a layoff coming to Schenectday Generator and Turbine workforce. Doesnt mean the other buisness's on campus wont see one, but the union workforce has nothing to think about but growth. Since they are still looking to fill another 20-40 positions, all is good for at least, at least the next 2-4 years,
