Tell me you're desperate to stop the exodus of talent without telling me you're desperate to stop the exodus of talent...

Even if the promotions were locked in before the announcement, it looks fishy. Besides, the sheer amount of promotions in some areas make no sense. I know of some PSO folks that don’t have anything to do as it is (P5s) and I saw lots of further promotions. Promotions in Customer Success are crazy too. I cannot help but think that those have a target on their back now. We are WAY too top heavy now
Gee. I wonder why so many people are leaving? Oh surely its not because BC laid off most of the employees of the last couple of companies they bought. Surely.
I'm new and my boss told me I have to wait a year to be promoted. Meanwhile, dpsht McGee has been there for 5 months and has been promoted, so, whatever.... don't expect here in a year anyways.
The (insane) promos were because there was 20% (or higher in some BUs) attrition. Promos were to stop that (poor attempt). Kitty-kat said!!
Don't worry about the Dir/Senior Dir level... if they stay they become Managers at the new spot. if they get cut, they get a bigger severance...
But everyone is correct. you have to keep the wheels on the bus till this acquisition closes. If that means some promotions, or RSUs that are fat with 1/3 vesting in MARCH is a big carrot to keep some folks.
The shame will be if this closes sooner rather than later, those unvested RSUs could just fly away into the sunset instead of being there for your eventual termination.
Unlike the execs there is no accelerated vesting for the plebes.
Broadcom are too smart not to notice and anticipate this. They will just get a bigger axe.
Worst of all is that people are putting it on linkedin, lots around director/snr director layer - this will get brutalised
The more money you make, the more it will hurt when you have to find another low paying job.
The promos were agreed and locked in at a BU level long before the acquisition was announced. The two are not linked.
I'm sorry, but I just find this so funny.
