Our manager does not care that his expectations are unrealistic. Just from the beginning of the year until now, the amount of my work and responsibilities have doubled. What's your situation like? I fear that the amount of work will increase even more.

I work at my own pace. We do the work of 3-4 persons. I am not low man, I am not high man on the totem pole. I'm maybe 3-4th in line that knows the work well, and knows how to get it done. Since that time we've hired a half dozen since, and it'll take about 12-24 months to get them up to speed. The f*ckery of management, is that they were awarded billion dollar projects, yet they lack the manpower to service them.
With that said, fence hoppers can't do what I do. Overseas losers can't do what I do, he-l we've been at that for nearly 50 years with no success. Every overseas counterpart jumps ship for a nickel once they learn a talent or skill, and process repeats. You can NOT, train stone age people to work in the rocket age. It doesn't compute. And today, even those that apply with half, or one third of the skillset, they'll take 1-2 years to train properly.
Yeah, I don't give a damn. Good luck trying to replace talent. May you enjoy and prosper every painful step of the way.
Well if they can't find anyone else to replace you what can they do?
