Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Off for medical reasons

Several hundred people were unjustly sent home for medical reasons the last few years.
Many are healthy and want to work at UP.

Hey management are you listening ? Hope they will get an offer to come back to work.

Check with EEOC, I saw many cases there that helped people ,who were fired for UP not respecting their health conditions. You might be able to file a complaint the EEOC.

I was one of these individuals. Got held out after being cleared by doctor for 8 months for nothing! There's quit a few folks that still haven't been brought back!

Young guy (40-ish at the time) suffered a stroke after having a bad argument w/ his manager. He was an easy going guy but got tired of this managers threats and insults. (this managers behavior was reported several times, but nothing ever changed) After rehab his dr’s release him to come back to work, but he was told he was unfit for duty. No UP dr ever even met w/ him. He gets hired in the same craft by a different RR. He hasnt missed a day of work since his recovery, he has been in legal limbo this entire time.

How does the poster know several hundred employees were unjustly taken out of service due to medical reasons? Do you have access to all of these employees medical records? Are you a physician? Speculative posts like this are just silly and don’t do anyone good. Why not just stick to topics and facts that are actually relevant.

I love all the ethics lectures from the worlds biggest spin doctors. If you comment on the company web site you could actually face discipline for not praising said article. That should sum up who we are dealing with here.
