Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Predictions for the next 9 months.

At this time anyone within Citrix especially in high cost locations in the western hemisphere should be very worried.

Based on the track record of Vista, they will move everything as much possible and your job will be bangalored. If you dont believe me look at the careers site of their portfolio companies and check to see how many US roles they have. TIBCO is laughable, their careers site has 0 US roles.

The beginning of the end is here. Get out while you can like I did and leave that sinking ship.

For the friend who wrote: I think your challenge is being a Citrix engineer.

Yes in 2020 I became the supervisor over an IT department at a hospital. Citrix engineer was just %20 of my job there.

My comment was more how all the huge financial institutions in the united states that Pacific Life partnered with didn’t have a single USA based IT job.

When I got my layoff notice I learned the dark side of being upbeat and staying positive about it. When the senior management says “oh your talented i’m sure you’ll find something in a heartbeat” it’s just a canned statement. For those of us who got to stay with a company 10-20 years during that time our jobs have been very devalued offshored.

Final statement: i noticed it’s always the silver haired old white conservative republican executive who signs the final line to send to your job overseas. Like: the very guy who you think would NOT do this.

Some friendly advice from a long-time Citrite who left when the going was good. The job market right now is already changing, and not in favor of candidates in many areas. Increased competition and fewer open roles (seeing a lot that are requiring hybrid or onsite as well as opposed to fully remote - that could limit many to certain geographic job markets). Not a great time to have to move or relocate either if you end up having to do that. Good luck to all!

Look around and actively search, I think that's best. But also, severence is basically being paid to job search. I am not opposed to that. We had a good run here... I'll consider coming back when we leave Vista and Elliot to care about people and money again.

I think your challenge is being a Citrix engineer. I am sure you also worked on identity and other security areas while dealing with Citrix. Those areas are very active and IT departments in financials are hurting because they can't seem to hire. You should be able to find a role quickly. Best of luck to you but please, don't look for Citrix engineer roles- look forward.

It’s shocking. I was a citrix engineer for Pacific Life and when they outsourced the entire IT department in 2019 i was so c*ck sure I would get a new job at the many financial companies they partnered with.

Not a single one had IT jobs in California and hardly any in the US at all.

They only had trendy jobs like “Data Scientist” or “Transformative Growth Lead”

The non IT IT jobs where people speak buzzwords and just make stuff up.

“let’s double down and operationalize the parallel pathed product chain release cycle”

Me: what?

Agreed - but it won't take nine months.
