It can never be repeated enough times::: often it happens that the person who receives the notice that they are laid off is not ready and ends up in a situation where they do not have enough time to gather their personal belongings. Don't allow yourself to get in that position and, just in case, get sorted everything personal on time because you might not have access to it later!

Exactly right. And many people carry a Citrix owned computer. Google “what should I do before I turn in my work laptop” and go through the checklist. If you have a Mac don’t forget about your Keychain. There can be passwords stored there that you don’t want to hand off. Be smart, check your six.
If you're talking about physical stuff in the office, this really isn't a concern. Citrix isn't going to steal your mugs and photos. If you're talking about IT/digital info, a good percentage of Citrites are still on their BYOD gear from a few years ago. That's yours to keep, obviously. You will lose remote access/Workspace/O365 fairly quickly, but stuff on the laptop won't magically vanish. Even if it's a corporate laptop, you'll still have access to it after being shut off remotely.
The best bet is to just backup whatever you need from Sharefile - where anything saved on your virtual desktop is stored - and stuff on your hard drive on your laptop. This isn't a big deal for most people. Save your Outlook items into a PST file and back that up as well.
If you want to send a goodbye email, prepare the text and distribution list now and save as a draft - then you need only press send.
If you're unlucky enough to not get cut just save it for the coming months!
Yes also back up all the files you may need in future, and be prepared psychologically
The fact that not one, but two people disliked this post is astonishing. Wtf
