Despite the fact that Lowe's is in panic that something that could damage the company's reputation will reach the media (this is my opinion), the reputation of this company has already been damaged a long time ago. Perhaps it would be better and wiser to put efforts into better treatment of remaining employees?

Yesterday, a co-worker who is usually covering anywhere from 2 - 4 departments every shift they work was told yesterday they must be Code 3 trained as it is more important that coverage in the departments.
Look for kiosks to replace specialists in departments that have them. At my store specialists are expected to be able to sell in any department. At my store we have three specialists covering five departments; appliances, cabinets, flooring, mill work, and decor.

Haven’t heard this. What is this from?
“ Lowes isn’t getting rid of long tenured employees. Why? Because the a lot of the older employees don’t make as much as the newer employees.”
Problem is with this argument is that even if they don’t get paid as much, they MUST be paid their mandatory FT hours no matter what. PT can be scheduled for minimum or 0 hours as needed…and we know Lowe’s is perfectly comfortable understaffing whenever they can.
did my 12 and a half years help or hurt me? Terminated last week just days before going on medical short term disability leave. They save some $ there as i would have reveived 60% of my pay. Sedgewick associate told me this was not the first time someone was terminated before a short term disability leave. Probably legal (especially in a right to work state), but a classless move none the less. Their reputation matters little to the bottom line.
Just remember,tenured/full time employees have health/vision/dental insurance and other benefits. That’s the real cost of tenured/full time employees.Yes it’s true they start new hires more than t/ft employees, but the insurance and other benefits …. new hires don’t have them so lowes saves money..
Lowes isn’t getting rid of long tenured employees. Why? Because the a lot of the older employees don’t make as much as the newer employees. Some guy on another site tried saying the same thing. He claimed because of tenured employees have more vacation and holiday hours. But they get paid out no matter what.

Marvin plan is to get rid of long tenure employees that are making too much money. Part timers are the way to go even though some work as much as 35 hours a week without receiving full time benefits.
Much like banks have turned to ATMs and eliminated tellers, lowes will do the same. Corporate is just waiting for you to quit.
Lowes employees are like the cannon fodder Putin is drafting into the Russian army. If it can fog a mirror, its good to go. Fresh meat. Nothing else.
