Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

What's the problem

What's the issue with giving you a set schedule.......like a REAL job...especially when you have tenure.

No problem here. I'm gonna bust my a-s for those service stars! My gaslighting mgmt keeps dangling that "promise of a raise" carrot and I keep hustling! Want me in at 3a for a district visit? Sure thing! Want me to mentor new kids making more and who will replace me? Tepper! Cuz I'm a d-mb CSA who keeps drinking that Blowes koolaid! Have a lowes safe day!

Customer centric scheduling, like the two raises is better than one cr-p, benefit Lowe’s more than the customers or employees; it’s yet another trick Melvin and friends have pushed upon us to benefit them and not us.

Without a union we will get nothing. We are all seen as unskilled expendable labor. They think that the computer training gives you product knowledge, it doesn't, but they think it's good and anyone can learn what they need to know in any department from it. The company wants constant turnover because corporate leadership is clueless and looks at a spreadsheet all day and thinks the turnover somehow saves them money, but without context those numbers are useless, but they don't have that because none of them have ever worked in the stores because they think they are too good for that. I'm sure they all have contracts, if it's good for them, it should be for us too.

Either conform and adapt or find another job—That is the attitude of corporate toward all of the employees in the stores. With this economy you are going to see more and more automation, consolidation, and position eliminations. Lots of more changes are coming.

I had a set rotation when I worked at a different specialty retailer.
It can be done, but it needs HR in the store, plus professional management.

They want all fulltimers gone. MST can carry the extra weight along with their maid services. Lowes corporate inflicts pain and misery. Set schedules? Nope..we will get service stars and cold pizza. Melvin approved this message.

It’s a way to keep workers exhausted and unable to hold other jobs or stir up trouble. “Customer Centric” did little to provide adequate coverage. I never understood the lack of set schedules - hospitals and other businesses (as well as our own corporate) have done it successfully for years.
