Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Moving On.

My time with EM was an enjoyable one and at the time I was volunteered to leave I must admit that was a dark period due to poor actor actions / fabrications / trying to justify decisions.

One year later and the darkness has lightened, life has improved beyond all measure, work-life balance is normal, family act as one, career progression is given vs requested and I am surrounded with personnel who just want the best. Sounds foreign but leaving O&G has given me a different outlook, prospect, perspective and refreshed happiness thats been absent.

You may not be able to change your current situation if it’s a dissatisfied one, but you can control your next. There is life away from the O&G sector, you just need to look for it!

What does “I was volunteered to leave” mean? Did they fire you? Did you quit?

@OP Good. Keep moving. Watch the door behind you on the way out.

Maybe you can entice some of the other disgruntled lifers to move on with you.

Sounds like Baton Rouge. Glad you escaped and found relief. I know it’s very toxic
