Everybody knows this is true for us older employees who've been here long enough to see the company go from a decent to a terrible place to work, but this is now true even for new hires. Just ask anybody who joined in the last few years what their plans are. I'm guaranteeing you it'll be some version of gaining knowledge/experience before moving on. Nobody is planning to stick around longer than they have to.

For us younger employees when we see the way the over 50 crowd is treated it certainly sends us the message. Going through t growth has reinforced that for sure.
The place is a dump. I have a similar story to the last poster about my exit and I also was a high performer over many years. Just be glad if you’ve found other more meaningful work. If you haven’t, now is the time. Lots of options out there in insurance.
I had my "Shawshank Redemption" in late 2020 after the layoffs, personality tests, and push to Virtual Claims. Felt great to tell Allstate I was done. They even threatened to file a theft report for all of the office equipment that remained in my house after my termination date which they didnt even have the courtesy to communicate to me. I only found out a week later when I received Cobra paperwork. They expected me to pack up their gear and send it back to them after they ended my employment? I ended up dumping all of it thier company car which was still parked in front of my house with the keys in it. What a double standard. Years of being told to return all phone calls, respond to emails and set expectations, yet they couldn't even demonstrate the same standard and let me know they terminated me, without accounting for their gear, the day after I gave notice. Terrible place to work. Terrible company that emulated the worst of corporate america. Everyone on my team has quit. My old boss reached out to apologize, say they miss me and confirm how bad the work environment is. And in case there are those of you who bleed blue who say I couldn't hack it, I'll say to you that I was a recipient of the chairman's award, multiple DPA's, was a subject matter expert in diminished value and letter writing, recipient of many other recognition awards and very likely outperformed you..... The Allstate work environment is toxic. QA auditors don't have the skills to demonstrate how to be successful doing what they accuse employees of not doing. Life does exist outside of Allstate and after two years with another employer I am healthier, happier and compensated better.
To answer the question, yes. Give them a personality test and check their age and salary. If they age and salary are both high, use the personality text as an excuse to force a person to leave. With the layoffs in 2020, the majority of those laid off (including me) were over 50 and higher salaried. Thankful for the layoff, would not want to work for this sh-tshow of a company
You are most likely correct, but how do you “guarantee” it? If by chance you are incorrect, what do you do to live up to such a guarantee? Do you have a way to force someone who says they want to stay to leave?
