I can finally tell off all the rude and entitled customers, and I've been enjoying it immensely. The look on their face is priceless. They always want to talk to a manager, but what are they going to do, fire me? I'm doing them a favor by staying until the closing. If they don't like what I'm doing, I'm perfectly okay with leaving earlier.

Don't think the SM s cannot be vindictive as most are out for themselves especially at this point.
I'm glad it is a catharsis for you. I agree that you may run across them again. The refrain of WHERE WERE YOU WHEN WE NEEDED YOU is a familiar one and valid but if you gave them no reason to come in as a company in terms of poor selection, etc., where they were was Target. Get beat up enough and you lash out but the unemployment angle is valid. Especially with a vindictive SM.
Be careful, you may be telling of a future employer.
They can dock whatever severance you were due and not pay unemployment. How do I know? It happened to me when I was much younger with a major retailer that closed up. With that being said, nothing pi---d me off than customers gloating at the fact we were closing. They didn’t come in when we were in business, why come when we are closing Because they’re cheap butts looking for a steal, sometimes literally.
