Why haven't they published the full list of 150 closing stores? Why let us know about 56 and not the rest? You can't convince me they're still deciding which stores they're closing. You do not give a precise number and then see how to fill it. They must know all the affected locations, so why keep it a secret? Why torture us like this?

It is true that none are safe but I doubt any WELL PERFORMING stores still exist and I will insist that it comes down to leases. I don't think performance has a thing to do with it given the moves made in this district. The script has not just been lost, it has been shredded.
All 150 closing store have not been decided yet. The 56 have been released because they are the lowest preforming stores. Rumor has it that in a few more months, more closing store will be announced. Even though my store is or should I say was a 'well preforming' store, we're not a off the chopping block yet. DM's are walking all stores. Now RM's will be walking as well. Than mire changes are coming.
None of us are safe
Consider how many people have written on here after being promised some sort of payout by BBBY and having it nor come to pass. Instead, they got stuck holding the bag for the company. I don't think corp. Can be trusted to put any interests ahead of its own but, hey, we all know that. I had a decent SM one time who was promoted to a DM on the strength of a one percent rise in coffee sales, which I was told to closely monitor. What is funny is I thought it was nothing until he told me it was the only item in a huge store that increased in sales. He was not a bad person at all. I was just doing my job, like you all do. It's no medal winner but coffee was the only thing that sold in WM and we had it stacked WAY above the fixtures in the stockroom. Up at least 18 feet. In the end it just supported my lazy unappreciated lead. Some PTs DO work. But in this case I felt a bit used. I know the place will resort to overworking you and that is the point. Overworking for no reason and no merit. As for the regionals and such, people used to cringe when learning of a VISIT. I treated them like any other super. And whatever they pit into the place in terms of sweat and tears and health problems only resulted in their firings as BBBY had to blame SOMEONE for not performing. Don't let them blame you wrongly for that. It is CORP .
They are feeding both employees and the media the idea that if your store lives up to sales goals, you will survive. I think it is bunk but what happens to their house of cards when they announce 150 at once? We all know well perfoming stores, relatively, will be closed but BBBY doesn't want shareholders to know they were bad leases. We have all said that poor or expired lease stores would go. That has been true for 2 years on this forum. They are trying to give you the idea that you can work your way out of termination. I doubt it and agree that they know which ones are closing. Heck, I doubt the place could stand the hit of laid off employees from 150 stores getting unemployment checks at one time. Would guess this is a huge con on their part. I cannot explain the dropping of the newly renovated Orland store in any other way. Schaumburg? As I've said, they need to keep 53 running until they work through the merch from other big stores. At one time, it was strategic to keep the area covered. Now it is just piecemeal demolition and I regret hearing it is so demoralizing. It is not fair to you. I would leave this purgatory if you can before it gets even worse.
