Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

A promotion doesn't mean you're safe

A guy I know recently got promoted and is convinced that makes him resistant to layoffs. I know for a fact (and I remember reading it here at some point) that people who had gotten a promotion as recently as a month before layoffs were let go, but he doesn't believe me. He's a good guy and I'm afraid that he's in for a rude awakening soon - and the worst thing is he won't be prepared since he's not expecting it. Not much I can do about it, though.

And when they catch it again, but now without benefits because they are working two part time jobs to make ends meet, that will increase their anxiety all the more. And anxiety is one of the comorbities, too. Great job, T Mobile.

Lol plenty of people thought getting the coof shot would save them from getting laid off and look how well that worked out.

I know a promotion relocation that was let go! Two months after he relocated.

Needless to say he isn't happy. Neither is his manager. The director made the decision.

Yep this was pretty common in consumer group during our rounds, there were even scenarios of relo promotions that were let go
