What’s the word on what Broadcom wants to do with offices? If they lay a bunch of people off would they still need the space?

For workers attached to an office overall attendance levels are monitored. Do note that AVGO has become more flexible with each acquisition, the company IS changing.
Also be aware....Broadcom will ask a simple question …if attendance is below X why are we paying for it? Therefore expect to be made remote if more than X from the office, otherwise you're expected in the office.
Of the 6 buildings in Cork, 3 aren’t in use even if all return to office. Factoring the layoffs, only need 2 at most.
The eight ball says , “outlook not so good” on work from home.
Hock is stuck in the ‘80s.
I have seen remote job postings on Broadcom's site, so I think they do use remote workers but not work-from-home. I'm not sure how far away from an office classifies as remote, but that's how I interpret it.
I think it's a given that Hock will force everyone back into the office.
I keep wondering though, how is he going to deal with all the remote workers who live more than 50 miles from an office?
Will, he simply lay them off because they can't come in and twiddle their thumbs at a desk? If that's the case, then Hock truly does not care about talent.
get rid of staines and just keep london.
Very simple. Based upon BU’s to be kept, and current AVGO employees and new VMW employee concentration they’ll optimize to Class C office space at lowest possible costs…
while I do not know if offices will be closed or not, one thing I do know. Hock Tan doesn't like home office. He wants everyone to work from office. There are only rare occasions where employees have home office contracts at Broadcom.
We are being encouraged back into the office. Free snacks! Free breakfast! Great coolaboration! Yeah right.
only very small numbers use the offices even now, mostly empty
Ha! Yea, I’m sure the hundreds of thousands of square feet of office space that are totally empty is a totally sustainable situation that will continue in perpetuity.
Any business person with an ounce of common sense would either make everyone go to the office or shut it all down as soon as is possible.
So yea, “no one knows” - FFS
No one has any idea and anyone who says they do is lying.
