Bet we lose half of what ever specialists we still have. Nothing like screwing over and forcing out the knowledgeable ones.

They took our service company cars (which they required we use) away months ago. Had sold my car because I could not keep both (would have to pay for a second parking spot at my complex) and then had to go buy one to use. Currently interviewing and leaving as soon as get the job offer. Sick of not being able to take care of customers and not being able to give them a straight answer on why. Most techs will be gone by end of year anyway...

Heard today change coming to production

There are two ways to look at this....

If you already have a second vehicle then you are already paying the insurance, possible a car payment, and a ton of extra miles that are going to cause break downs sooner. All for a chincy small mileage reimbursement.

The second way is most of us have a personal vehicle and the company vehicle is our second backup vehicle. Granted they charge per month to subsidize a junk company vehicle but still allot better than laying out thousands for a new second vehicle

Figure the way car/truck prices have gone through the roof as of late, your talking a long term loan for a vehicle that is going to be beat up by driving for xerox. The mileage reimbursement barely covers gas and insurance. If you drive the vehicle for work purposes and you have a warranty on it that usually gets questioned since they can easily find out it's just not driven from home to work and back each day.

On the good side is I don't believe they can force you to put telematics in your personal vehicle!!!
