I hope that after these layoffs, everyone will finally learn that there are no untouchables. When it comes to layoffs, no one can say that they are safe. Cuts generally don't make much sense, and no matter how much you think you're irreplaceable and therefore won't lose your job - it can happen very easily.

I am one of those that is being placed in the wrong position. It has nothing to do with who I know. It has to do with there is no one else to do the job. It's a good job but, I am not qualified to do it. I will do the best I can and it will look good on my resume. 😀
the below reply is spot on. one of thousands of reasons that AIG is failing. the wrong people are put in the wrong positions because of who they know or what quota they fill. do this enough and you start to look like the government where nothing gets done. yes, that's where we are.
If anyone of the current staff, in any department, thinks for a second they’re untouchable, then please use that mental health day to address your delusional a$$. Every single person is replaceable. Now with that said, those with pals & peeps in the right places, will survive longer than the common scrub. And of course, those with connections to the top, oo la la, those are the real untouchables!
