I saw posts for department managers when I was looking through career search on the wire

They do need more department centric focus. But, the term ‘manager’ won’t be used like it was in the old days. You’re going to see continued usage of the term ‘Lead’.

Dept management gave accountability to who was responsible for price changes, mods and zoning. Stores were neater, and customers actually had someone to help them.
They won’t bring department managers back. They’d have to realign the team lead positions and interview for DM and move other titles around as well. It’s much more complicated than you think, plus Im pretty sure there’s a legal reason they can’t use that title anymore at the store.
all department managers made into team leads here. expected brillant move , no severance here.
