Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

The main problem at UP

That's been the main problem at the UP for a very long time. The management doesn't listen to its employees. Why make them do the battery test, when it's obvious they would fail it. It's a great idea that will never happen. That management will continue to do what they've always done. Bark orders to achieve what they want done, and scratch their heads when things continue to fail. Then they would lie and blame the very employees they should've been listening to to save their own a-s. Let's be real about all of this. Everything bad at the UP is all hovering around the bad management and their stellar decisions. So again why make them do the battery test? Let's make the management do the work they keep yelling about and let's see who can do it. If they can't do the work, then it should be goodbye to them. When the management positions open up, offer those positions to the very people who have actual experience with it, and watch how the operations change. The battery test is a great idea, but the actual work is better and real world. It's not a classroom simulation.

Well said, @sgy+1iFvrVjg.

I’ve heard the battery test is no longer required to get into management. It’s no longer listed on the web either.

Exactly! Why does the UP have managers that are in charge of managing jobs that they don't even know how to do?

Indeed! It's like making suggestions to a brick wall...and then when all sh#t hits the fan; management says we never informed them. All around "horse and pony show". TCU clerk and I will strike with my brothers and sister on Sept 16th
