Transparency in acquisition deals

This is my first time going through the acquisition process in a company. As soon as the announcement arrived, I started looking for a new job. Perhaps someone thinks that the employees are given enough information, but I still think that this should be much more transparent. Any thoughts?

your first acquisition and you went straight to the job market? Wow it took me at least 3 times of being screwed over by companies to have that mindset!

"but I still think that this should be much more transparent."

Surely you jest. It's no concern of yours. You don't own the company, nor are you a corporate officer. Make your own decision and move on.

Tip: keep your emotions in check, don’t burn bridges & maintain a high level of professionalism. Be concerned with the things you can control.
Have been through 3 acquisitions and have kept my job and progressed at that company. Every time there are the doomsayers and be careful of places like the layoff - generally you’ll only get one perspective as it’s where people come to sound off and spread rumors

Legally they cannot reveal things probably but I also think they don’t want to. The best example was kit. On slack, literally the day before the announcement, he said on slack that this is just a rumour and people need to calm down. The next day was the announcement and it was clear to me that they wouldn’t want to say anything, even if they could. Because let’s face it. A person in the position like Kit had to know this is happening - and likely for months. To then lie is just showing that everybody is on their own. And has to make their own decision. Anyway, whatever. I resigned now.

I was part of Broadcom (original one) when it was acquired. Same thing. No info while it’s happening. However, when it happened they offered 2 months to an year of notice period to most fools and a decent severance package. Also we’re flexible on when we can leave, so it worked out well for me. However, there was no overall macro issue at that time so I managed to get another job relatively easily.

There _is no information_. Leadership literally doesn't know what you want to know yet.
