@2xmh+1iHEwTvL - You're buying a Buick? Apparently, you haven't learned anything after being cut.
You used to support Ford. You bought their products and were loyal as long as they gave you a salary. You turned your head (from seeing the misery of others) to make money for yourself disregarding the history of Ford (in the process totally disregarding how Ford has treated their own customers, suppliers, and even past "cut" employees) over the past 20 years if not longer. Then they cut you. "Only" Then (after it finally caught up with you) you decided to show them. So you stopped supporting one lousy company - turned around and now support a different lousy company.
Wow, Ford should have kept you for sure. Hopefully, you get a job a GM (supporting another lousy company by buying their products, until they cut you also).
My suggestion - start looking at the bigger bigger. The connection between large corporations and the political classes (especially a political entity that is/has literally been creating divisions/separate classes of people since at least 2008 if not the 1950s, if not the early 1800's. As a salaried, non-union employee, you aren't in one of their protected classes.) You are just a pawn to them (as most of us are). Don't believe me - just look at the news out today at which "class" of people (railroad workers) were just provided courtesy of the US Govt a "guaranteed" 25% raise over the next 5 years, plus improved health care costs, and large up-front payments. Did Ford, Buick, or any political party do that for you? No, and pull your head up out of the sand, they aren't going to either. You want to really show them - free yourself by not buying their products at all. Stop being loyal to companies (when it fits your own selfish needs - start looking at how the companies treat others, too - that is a real reflection of their corporate "values" that they all talk so much about). How many times has Ford talked about "values" and "family" over the years? None of us have enough fingers and toes to count all the times, various Ford managers have talked and talked and talked about these topics.
You said you were just "looking" at buying a Buick. Make it a used Buick, or any "used" brand for that matter. Just buy a good-value "Used" vehicle from any manufacturer, and keep it as long as it runs. Stop supporting the corporate/political US auto machine. Then continue with all of your other "material" purchases (electronics, furniture, clothing, etc.) Once, you make this type of living paradigm shift, you will find you are also much happier.
