So I am a supe and I have a mgr..Mgr... not sm...but Mgr nonetheless that is so toxic and mean that this person should not encounter customers much less be given the power she's given in the store and I don't know how to navigate this. There are constant complaints that never reach sm...and actually the store would do better without her. Se has created a situation where associates are afraid to come to her with questions. She is just mean. How do I deal with this and what should I do?

The company is dying. Anything that happens now doesn't matter & is unlikely to change.
Find another job immediately and leave!
HR is not your friend and they are not there to help you, they’re there to take care of corporate.
Unless it's changed in the few years I've been gone, bedbath is a culture of bullying and intimidating employees. Thankfully alot of those people are gone however I doubt the toxic culture has changed. Look for another job. There are so many better places than there.
I feel like at this point they are going to be hard up to try and hire any new management and will just let things slide. I think the toxic stores are only going to get worse.
Sounds familiar. Apply elsewhere. I had one that actually set me up once in front of SM. Until she "worked overnight" with her lackey and did nothing but leave 4 cages plus in the aisles at 7 am, one hour before a visit from regional. My astute DM sensed work dumping and asked what was wrong. SM was then told his people were there all night and did not do their jobs. It was back in WM days. Like I said, I had one good DM who knew the score. But the WM witch was only a lead. Now you know why I dislike leads! I don't know if I should give advice on this. I transferred to soft side. Best of luck. If Chicago district I had a few ASMs like this. The bad ones stick around.
