Anyone knows if 3M is planning to remove the area Organization that was created due to Advance 3M operating model?
Will they change to globally reporting structure, hence rendering the large job cuts of this group of “area reporters”?

It has happened in the Health Care BG. Two weeks ago eliminated area structures
Why would MR & his executive team led to convince to move into such a fat structure to start with? Seems very poor foresight by the entire executive team.
Yes. This sort of structure doesnt exist in most other companies , there is no need for them and there is huge savings to be had
The area team organizational is enormous.. it will be brutal if really layoff this layer of management
It needs to happen - costs need to be cut drastically as 10B hearing liability is probably pretty likely.
This is going to be massive as there is such a large group of area VP, area directors, who does nothing much except consolidate PPT reports. It would be disastrous.
