Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Not Over Yet

Farley is obviously cleaning house - out with the old ( performance, loyalty have no relevance ) Hau was the fall guy for recalls - over the past few years plenty of senior folks were removed - Sherif Marakby of the so-called AV llc comes to mind replaced by a Renault veteran - Franck Louis Victor - all the money poured into Argo ( wtf has Bryan Salesky delivered???? ) - departure of execs that know how to deliver - Desi U ( Apple ) and an invasion of so-called designers from Hewlett Packard ( Ken Musgraves, Robert Moser ) wtf are Ford creating vehicles or terrible printers and computers! Farley is well aware he has to produce results or he'll be out as fast as Hackett - the impact of this round releases talent being hired by competitors ( Tesla, BYD, Amazon, .... ) plenty of indicators more ' seperations ' probably Q1 2023 get smart people - have your resumes ready and prepare - if you're over 50, 20+ years of service or in a group that will balance any claims of agr discrimination ( under 30, less than 2 years of service ) - more than likely next to go

We should not like unions! Stop sounding like RINOs!

We do not have a RIGHT to work. We do not DESERVE to earn a living. We have to compete - and be grateful for every opportunity! I was axed on Aug 22nd and I'm not complaining. I would go back if they would let me! I'll gladly collect unemployment - it's not a handout when I do it!

Actually, POLICE unions are the only GOOD unions! Every other union is just made up of people who don't want to work!

German engineers are protected by work groups/unions and laws. It would be really tough to quickly cut.

Has anyone impacted by this successfully found another opportunity already? Mainly asking just to gage how difficult it's going to be finding something else. Thx

Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai are not woke. They don’t pander to causes and constantly tout how green and caring they are as Job #1. They just go quietly about making the best vehicles for customers.

Ford PD Australia still has a reasonable work force. A lot of agency staff recently had their contracts cut short and most are expecting more cuts soon.

Frankly, the writing style sucks and getting past the one paragraph is not worth it.
Failure to communicate.
I guess (is what) you *are(+ saying.

GM staff from GM Opel and GM Australia were separated. A few of them transferred to GM NA, but most found employment elsewhere or are still out of work.

I thought the brain trust at BCG recommended no more than 6 layers to the top. So, that lasted what...all of 2 years? Glad we paid them the equivalent of a program refresh.

Meanwhile, we keep ADDING LL2+.
Funny that the email announcements have stopped.
Purchasing directors like Rob Transou used to dr right to the VP. Now they report to "Exec director" (new role / new layer) Kathy Worthen who recently joined from GM, and she reports to the VP.
How many gsr firings were nullified by that 1 high-pay add?

I suspect the layoffs are not started / complete in EU. Recall that they must go through the Works Council. Typically, we layoff in NA first, followed by EU. I understand some EU employees have been called back off vacation. More layoffs are coming.

While Honda, Toyota , Hyundai keeps their core functions mostly in their home countries why don’t we try that at ford.

What is missing in all these rounds of layoff is that Ford still has big size PD operations in England and Germany. Most of those functions are redundant and can be done from USA.
GM left Europe operations (Opel) cold turkey nobody knows why Ford did not follow through . At least Ford cut operation in Australia and moved them to China but for many decades there was a huge PD base in that continent.
There is no need for PD headcount in Europe, they should be the next to be fired
