I know we are going to get lowballed before Sept. 16, 2022. Our union officials will come to terms with UP. Just be happy we all have jobs after this..

The time to strike is upon us
Hired out in 96 we could take a day or 2 off when I hired out without any worries. I and many others signed up knowing to earn a living we would have to work nights, weekends and holidays but be able to lay off when it was no longer safe to be working. Now we have engineers falling asleep on yard jobs knowing that they were too tired to be at work but didn’t have a choice because of their attendance points. That is just plain wrong and unsafe.
Problem is, the "Non votes" count for ratification.
When I and a bunch of other people started the attendance policy was way different and was more conducive to a healthy lifestyle.
You knew the hours of being a transportation employee, when you took the job.. Quit crying, about the absentee policy
If they wanna low ball, so be it. Its just gonna make it worse on them. I for one wanna see how far beyond bluffing the suits will actually go. I am curious does their hubris and lack of common sense extend past the warning signs that are readily apparent now? UP is “railroading” much worse than it was 5 years ago. If any union actually goes against their membership and agrees to something less than the PEB, then those full time union goons can join the managers and try to do all the needed work themselves.
Nobody is going to vote for anything less than what the union asked for including a new attendance policy and the 16th will be a railroad holiday no matter what happens.
Enjoy the day off and celebrate.
