@9sdx+1iBtOYze Nice one. Now watch out for the psychotic "rebel" guy jump in and claim "We don't care", without specifying who the grand "we" is.

0 in Cisco UK&I SE team. No career path after grade 10. Anything above is being "managed out" by the management.
If you stay longer than a few years then you are likely to forget any hands-on skills that may have earned you any market value in the past.

5 tac, the job itself is ok. The army of useless muppets surrounding it (account teams manager of whatever) makes it close to 1 , but you have the possibility to handover sh-t so an 8 for that. It just take two or three years to get into hiding mode and numb and all is okas long as you get the pay and don’t care too much.

Who could possibly like working in any droning and tedious job in tech (or the corporate world in general)? Is this a serious question?

I am only doing this nonsense until I hit my magic number and then I am outta here faster than the Road Runner.

As you become older that becomes a more difficult question. I would rate my work/life balance as 9/10, and my job satisfaction as 3/10. Work/Life balance is the reason I am still here. When I was younger I worked 80 hours a week at startups and loved it. Now I am older and need a balance. Depending on where you are in life, Cisco can actually be a great place to work.
