AT&T is at 180K employees. Word on the street is they want to reduce to 140K. This represents a reduction of 40K employees. T's very lifeblood depends on this reduction.

Verizon head count has gone from 220K in 2010 to 118K in 2021. The rumor is they want to get to < 100K.
