Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Leave and never look back

If you are young or if you have any skills my advice is to leave 3M and never look back.

I am a recently retired 3M finance/business leadership person from 3M.

I agree completely that right now things are dire, They need a new CEO, probably CFO and have to settle this hearing issue.

I totally see why people would want to leave.

All I can say is this company seems to have periodic crises. I dont know why.

I went through dire times like these quite a few times in my career.

Not as bad as this due to lawsuit (3M NEEDS to settle, Veterans do to. Spending billions on legal both sides makes no sense)

But if they settle this, 3M is still an interesting place to work for the right kind of jobs/people. Not all divisions, but very interesting diverse materials science company.

There's not all that many of these left.

I was hoping to work at least 3 more years, but I am feeling like I may need to leave too. The company huddle today made my skin crawl!!

Hopefully the exit is paved with 6 months of severance to make up for the cr-p mike has inflicted on everyone. Good luck to all.

3M still looks good on a resume. The way things are going it won't look good on a resume for much longer. Get out while you can still use it to your advantage.

Even if you still work here, you'll never move, or get promoted again for a long time.
