With the re-org and focus on functional organizations having “accountability” it’s disheartening to see functional groups describe their services as a “value chain” without actually recognizing the costs. Value = Benefits - Costs. DW needs to hammer functional groups and those groups need to provide details on how each dollar they spend impacts their services just like the P&Ls have to do.

Function, while makes everything standardized, implies overhead and lose connection to the business. In todays market dynamics, empowering our people and leader to make decisions, functional orgs should be an exception and not the norm. It’s unfortunate that our leadership continues to think otherwise. They need to fire the current consultants.
Trust me Annandale in the cross hairs. Value-cost = zero Darren knows this ….crystal clear failing upward daily…….grease brothers ?????? HR ?
Same issue we have had with BTC, they will spend hours/days/weeks on the most insignificant details which adds zero value.
Functional is just word salad. Nobody can clearly state what it actually means.
Ironically the functional organizations are why we function so poorly.
Too many people on campus that do not have a clue.
With Zoom, just have all experts at producing facilities and zero experts on campus. All the experts can help all the other sites remotely just like campus would do remotely.
