Evaluating managers

Does anyone know how UP evaluates managers? This interests me because I have noticed that the worst managers who cause excellent employees to leave the company remain in their positions. On the other hand, I once had a great manager who did not stay here for long.

Lou sir was the worst manager ever! I left over a year ago. No job is worth having to work 12-16 hours and then being talked down to in a daily basis.

Some of these comments make me smile cuz they’re funny, but they also make me sad bcuz they're true. I dont see “evaluations” ever REALLY being accurate. Someone will set the parameters, questions, matrix’s, etc in order to advance / protect “their guy”. Thus building “their team” that will protect the head of the snake above all else.

I'd say it's who can kiss a-s the best, but looking at the pool of managers now leads me to believe that evaluations are non-existent. I haven't met too many managers at all who weren't habitual liars. Most of the current management doesn't even know how to do the job they were hired to do. If they don't get managers in there soon that people can actually trust and know what they're actually doing, then the ongoing exodus of employees is going to continue.

They give them a psyche evaluation to see how much of a sociopath they are and then promote them based on the score.

In order to stay as a manager for the UP , you have to lie like a mf . And keep a straight face. Learn how to fudge numbers around. Get kickbacks from contractors that you use. Pencil whip audits forms to make your region look good. And the most important one is hide injuries.
