This is very obvious. Of course, it is not in their interest to give us severance pay, so they are making our jobs more difficult in every way so that we decide to leave on our own.
I think they're more creative than ever about it? The expectations are unrealistic, the pressure is enormous.

All salary positions at Walmart have a severance package. It changes a bit here and there based on the reduction situation they are doing. More and more, they might try to separate you based on performance. That typically does not come with severance, but maybe with a continued salary for 2 months or so. If you get put on low performance, start looking. That’s the Walmart way to start moving you out. During calibrations, they’ll look to see who had a low performance this time or last time and those names become the targeted list. I sat through numerous iterations of meetings where performance ratings were changed due to group discussion. I saw acceptable performance ratings changed lower based on comments in the meetings. Managers and directors protect their favorites. Managers partner together and barter deals. It’s a slimy and horrible process, but it’s their way. I’d never recommend anyone work at Walmart, at least at home office.
Everything changed after Sam died. Instead of it being the strong family oriented company it once was, it was more about budget. Who could cut. Where could we trim. Where could we outsource for less. What could we send to India.
Walmart used to be a company you could find Sam over at transportation having a cup of coffee or playing with the dogs. He was approachable and down to earth. He would listen. Now it’s all about money. I fully understand business, and the desire to make money, increase profits and give stockholders a dividend. That’s all fine. But that’s not what Sam was about. That’s not what Sam’s vision was. Sam believed if you took care of people, they would take care of you. That whole philosophy is gone now.
“ I maneuvered myself into positions that required less and less work to the point I was working 3 hours a week for the past 2 years.”
Passing the requirements from the customers to the engineers?
You have to be creative as well. I maneuvered myself into positions that required less and less work to the point I was working 3 hours a week for the past 2 years. It was so funny when I just got laid off. I had to act serious instead of laughing tears of joy. I got a 6 figure severance package and now on to better things.
Such an immoral, gutless company run by egotistic fools and evil baasssstaaards.
Oh I agree. They do make our jobs have unrealistic expectations and no one can achieve those ridiculous expectations. They keep putting pressure on us so we quit. Shameful.
I agree
