Cisco is a nice place to coast, and we all know that...
That being said, this is a dying company with re--rded leadership.
The pay is not competitive, the CEO is too woke, and our tech is legacy rather than cutting edge

I just got a Connected Recognition for excelling in laziness. I do like cisco because us old guys have plenty of time to nap during webex calls- especially renewal prep calls while asset team tries to sort out what’s really installed. Happy to remain as long as the paycheck kerps coming. My Georgia Tech Engineering class ring shines bright like a diamond.

Remember folks, you only get 40-45 working years. Sit too long at a place like Cisco and you’re going to spend another 20 greeting people at Walmart.
I have known one person on my team who was a good performer. No pay raise since being hired about 5 years. Also got a CCIE and was a strong performer in his technology. No issues at all from any perspective. 2 years prior experience in the same industry.
I have seen folks wjth 2yoe, 4yoe move out and go to a competitor to a senior position and get an easy 50k-100k in RSU alone. Base is also higher by 20k for the same freaking job.
