Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

IMPACT!!

Well, we are off to a strong start! IMPACT is three weeks away. Soon customer facing teams (other than cx because they sre a waste) will decend into 100 degree vegas to get obliterated on booze and dr-gs on the night of day 1 then hide in hotel rooms feigning customer escalations and other customer calls so they can avoid dealing with hangovers at boring breakout sessions with the general public. The good news this year is you are allowed the option to stay home. I’m going to take advantage of that and stay home to get some golf and fishing in. I’m paying my daughter a few bucks to navigate to a few online sessions so it looks less like I’m paying attention. It’s going to be great! No vegas, no airports, hotels and no brown nose sessions! Anyone else doing the same?

Impact is the biggest waste of money on sale sl!me and marketing pukes. Money should go to engineerings festival CTO and technical events.

Have heard the women are just as bad as the men if not worse. Is that true.

Lots of cheating for sure. It’s sales.

All it is drinking and s-x. The women and men from sales get very promiscuous and are so willing to cheat on their spouses and partners back home.

There are a lot of better places to have a sales conference than Vegas in late August. Salesforce just had their annual sales conference on the Big Island in Hawaii as an example.

Nobody hosts conferences as cheaply and as efficiently as hotels in Las Vegas. My Dad was in the Navy and one of the ships he served on hosts a "crew" reunion in Vegas every year. They provided the names, and any contact info they had, to the hotel, and the hotel took care of contacting people, making reservations, assisting w/ plane itineraries, updating contact info, creating a schedule of events, dinners, etc. And the room rates, being for a group, are better than most discount travel sites. This group of retired Navy vets love it as they just pick a date, have a reunion, and plan the next one before they leave and let the hotel handle the rest. They have a great time every year. AND, they don't have it in Aug!

I wish it would go back to virtual. It was great to have those days off to quietly catch up on work and take a few early days off knowing that i would not be getting harassed from my sellers with stupid ideas and questions. Speaking of stupid, it’s nice to see iAVC is not going to be on our goal sheet.

Take a mental note of the senior presenters on the main stage- at least 50% of them will be gone before a back logged Cat9k ships!

The Cisco global sales meeting is a drunken spectacle. I was there a few times and outside of Chuck and the ELT pumping out the new propaganda for the FY there is plenty of excess of everything going on. 20k+ people is sales roles coming in for dr-gs, drinking, s-x, and everything else Vegas has to offer. What a waste Cisco, shame on you for promoting this toxic culture.

I'm convinced nothing Cisco does will ever make you people happy. If an all expense paid trip to Vegas still makes you feel miserable about your company, maybe it's time to dust off your resume.

What’s dragging the bloody business down is focus snd investments in woke and esg scores rather than investment in tech and engineering.

I’m going and then on day two, after all team dinner and booze, will come down with s “cold” and fly back home. Covid has been great for excuses.

I'm here before the guy who left 19 years ago makes his post. Dude, it's annoying. Move on. It's been 19 years. Just forgive and forget. Life is too short.
