Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

I regret putting in so much effort

Many people told me that before, but I didn't really listen to their advice until I experienced it myself. Walmart does not value anyone's effort at all!

Bosses don't walk the talk and despite the fact that they say that everyone needs to work harder, no, here an employee can feel valued only if he or she is the boss's favorite.

I don't know how some become favorites? The only thing I'm sure of is that unfortunately it has nothing to do with working hard.

Do a good job, make your boss look good, and kiss your boss's boss's bu-t. That gives you the best chance of survival. It also destroys your spirit.

If you are working hard and you are smarter than your boss, you are a threat to them. You won't be their favorite but in the "Throw under the Bus" list. They would be eagerly waiting for you to make some mistake.
