Some colleagues assure me that there will be no cuts here, at least not in the foreseeable future. Maybe I'm worrying too much, but it seems too naive to think that GM won't have any more cuts?
I wish they were right, but still... is there any valid argument to think that we will be safe from cuts for a while yet?

Have to wait until two more quarters. People are waiting for month to buy new cars at the same time cash rich tech companies are cutting jobs. We never know.
GM always cuts. Some small in size, but also the more magnificent. Hire everyone with a pulse, then cut. 2015, 2019, and yep, they're about due again.
