Yes, attrition is high. Yes, a lot of people have already been laid off or fired. No, we're nowhere near done. I admire people who can still live in a fantasy land where a job here comes with job security. The fact is, it doesn't. Look around you. There might not have been any major layoffs lately but there have been plenty of small cuts. It's always happening and you'd know it if you were paying attention. For your own good, you should start.

There is a God but TIAA management doesn't live by Him. Clueless, arrogance and ineptness would be the best practices they operate by. They fostered a climate of oppression and a toxic workplace. Don't be mislead by false promises...find a company that offers true leadership! Woe to account holders who don't have a clue what's happening internally.
Glad I left when I did. Calls in que from sun up to sundown with mandatory overtime, all pizzed off as this is the 2nd-10th time they have called in getting inconsistent information because reps are incentivized to get them off the calls as soon as possible and just be super pleasant to get the high quality score. Then those who take the time to do things the right way, get ki---d in the stats cementing them in the same position and unable to move upwards all-the-while the short cutters move on up. Then you have people entering retirement dirt broke blaming the organization for 100% of their assets in TIAA traditional as no one every had a conversation with them about diversifying. Then of course you have the same folks 100% TIAA traditional calling in to get a hardship to prevent eviction/foreclosure who can only get 10% (if they have tiaa traditional) at once (which is never enough) and you get the earful as they end in tears upset this was all they had to draw on. Then you have the IT departments constant sc--w ups and sending out emails which has nothing to do with the actual message they want to communicate stressing out a client base in their senior years easily triggered. I can go on and on. I will never miss that job.
TIAA has no conscience. Their finance is so disorganized they will lay you off in less than a month after you start and act like it's no big deal. By then you have already turned down the other offers. Their portfolio s*cks too. Even their own clients are investing with other institutions. If their clientele is smart, they will start looking to do business elsewhere instead of this pit ho-e where employees are getting screwed left and right. TIAA has been operating like this for many years. They still have a handful of loyal employees who will probably remain loyal even after getting screwed because they can't think for themselves after working so long there. OK to stay there but keep applying elsewhere because the future is not there. If there is a God, this place would not exist.
