Strike ends at ExxonMobil's Fos refinery in France

A strike at ExxonMobil's 133,000 b/d refinery at the Mediterranean port of Fos in southern France has ended.

Workers downed tools last week in a dispute over pay but have since voted to return to work "following negotiations on local demands", France's CGT trade union said. The outcome of the talks is not clear.

The CGT said "activities have resumed" at the refinery. Some unspecified units were halted during the dispute but crude cargoes continued to discharge.

The Norwegian State-owned O&G enterprise is also facing strikes for the same reasons.
This is already having major impact on UK and other dependencies.

Thank goodness for the right to work for less, as we have here.

Yep. That is correct. Originally the strike was justified by a pay raise request to compensate for high inflation. Contrary to some countries, like Belgium, salaries in France are not automatically indexed against inflation. No big deal when it was below 2%, big issue today.
